Rite Aid has officially entered Chapter 11 bankruptcy and will begin closing locations across the country. The goal is to sell off as many of its 1,240 stores as possible. Those that are not acquired will shut down for good.
This decision is not just about financial distress. It reflects deep structural problems that were building long before the filing.
